Baseball: Argyle cruises past Bonham behind potent lineup

Argyle has faced a do-or-die situation every time it has stepped on the field through the first three rounds of the playoffs. The situation hasn't bothered the Eagles a bit. Argyle has quickly jumped out to a lead in each of its three one-game playoff encounters and coasted to the finish. The familiar script played out again on Thursday night, when the Eagles blew out Bonham 12-0 in a Class 4A Region II quarterfinal game at McKinney Boyd that lasted just six innings.

Sean Bolin could still feel a little adrenaline coursing through his veins when he went to the mound to start for Argyle in a winner-takes-all game against Princeton on Friday night. Bolin had long dreamed of playing college baseball and secured his opportunity when he committed to follow in his father's footsteps and pitch at Baylor after a team dinner on Thursday. The sophomore turned around just a few hours later and pitched a gem in the Eagles 6-1 win at Prosper High School.

The Denton Broncos' season boiled down to their final game against Braswell and they rode the back of Wyatt Folsom, who struck out 10 and delivered the only RBI of the 1-0 victory, to punch their ticket to the playoffs and set up a three-game series against Aledo beginning Friday.
