Boys Golf: Argyle claims Day 1 lead at 4A state tourney

Argyle coach Brady Bell didn't want to put too much pressure on his team, so he didn't stress the need to be leading after Day 1 of the Class 4A state golf tournament. But when the Eagles won the state title each of the past two seasons, they had a Day 1 lead.

HEATH - The Krum Lady Cats needed only one run to emerge victorious in Game 1 of the Class 4A Region II semifinal series as they scored in the fourth and held on behind Tristan Bridges' eight strikeouts. Morgan Sebastian led the offense, going 2 for 3 for half of the Lady Cats runs. Avery Williams and Maddie Goin each went 1 for 2.

Guyer's opponents in the upcoming football season might think they caught a break after star running back Noah Cain left Denton for IMG Academy in Florida a few months back. Sure, the departure took the nation's top-ranked junior-to-be running back out of the Wildcats' backfield, but on Thursday night at Guyer's annual spring game, the Wildcats showed they still have plenty of talent.
